Welcome to the North Shore Skating Club

The North Shore Skating Club offers skaters of all ages and abilities an opportunity to develop their skills on the ice.

Our club was originally founded in 1948 as an ice dancing club in Lynn. Today, the North Shore Skating Club holds skating classes and programs at the Burbank Ice Arena in Reading and Hockeytown in Saugus.

The North Shore Skating Club offers a wide variety of classes and skating opportunities for skaters of all levels, from our Snowplow Sam classes for beginning skaters ages 4-7 to our Senior Club for skilled, competitive skaters. Please visit our Programs page for more details.

We host an annual Spring Ice Spectacular, an elaborate show featuring group performances, solos and special guest appearances. Members of our Senior Club represent North Shore Skating Club in a variety of exhibitions and competitions. We also host several U.S. Figure Skating skills testing sessions throughout the year.

For more details about upcoming events and programs, please visit our Calendar of Events  or Contact Us with questions. We look forward to seeing you on the ice!

The North Shore Skating Club, the Burbank Ice Arena Authority and the Reading Recreation Division are pleased to announce Special Skates, a skating program for children with special needs.

  • Special Skates is a skating program for children with special needs. It takes place at the Burbank Ice Arena on Saturday afternoons from 12:00 Noon - 12:50 PM. Skaters are supported on the ice by "buddies" to provide a safe and fun experience.  Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Skaters must bring and wear their own helmets and skates.  Skates may be rented at the arena for free!  The fee for the program to cover ice time is $100 for Reading residents and $110 for non-residents.
