This Web Site exists to inform the world in general, and our membership in particular, about what's going on with our club. If you have some information about club activities that should go on this site - please submit it to webmaster@nsskating.net.

Here's the sort of information I'm interested in getting:

• Calendar entries: dates and times of events to add to the event calendar.
• Brief announcements to appear on the home page.
• Documents about public club activities or business. These go into appropriate sections of the site and appear as links in the main menu.

If you submit documents, here are the formats I'm prepared to handle:

• Plain text: This might be a simple email, or a document saved as plain text from a program like Microsoft Word. This is a great way to send information that doesn't contain any special formatting.
• HTML: If you have information with formatting (bold, italics, tables, or whatever), you can send it to me as HTML - for example, by saving it as HTML from Microsoft Word or creating formatted email in Microsoft Outlook. One easy way to generate HTML is to copy/paste the content from your Microsoft Word document into a formatted email.
  
• PDF: If you have information intended to be printed out, PDF is a good way to represent it: it gives you complete control over the appearance of the document. See, for example, the various PDF documents published on the Ice Schedule and Basic Skills Program pages. There are advantages and disadvantages to using PDF. The advantage is that you completely control the appearance of the document. The disadvantage is that visitors to the site have to click a link to view them in Adobe Acrobat Reader - they don't appear as text within the site's pages. PDF is best for documents that are meant to be printed; everything else is best submitted as plain text or HTML.
• Microsoft Office Documents (Word or Excel): If you send me Microsoft Office documents as attachments, I will convert them to PDF and post the PDF. I cannot edit the documents or convert them to HTML (I don't run Microsoft Office), so they must be ready to view or print. I use a free online service to convert the documents - you're welcome to use the same service to convert the documents and send them to me as PDF.
